The rules
All of them, before you start. No surprises once the clock is running.
The test
- 10 questions, served one at a time, drawn at random from a large bank. Your paper is not the same as anyone else's.
- 120 seconds per question. When the timer hits zero your answer is submitted as it stands and the next question appears.
- No going back. Once a question is submitted or expires, it is done.
- You type your answer. There are no options to choose from.
- Copy and paste are disabled in the answer box.
How it is marked
- Each answer is scored 0 to 10 on whether it shows you understand the idea.
- Spelling, grammar and typos do not matter at all. Shorthand is fine. "k8s" is fine.
- Two or three sentences is plenty. Length earns you nothing.
- Partial credit counts. Half an answer scores about half the marks.
- You need 75% overall to win the coupon.
- A blank answer, or one that runs out of time with nothing typed, scores zero.
One attempt
One attempt per person, tied to your email address and mobile number, whether you pass or fail. If something genuinely goes wrong, reply to our email and tell us what happened — we can reset a single attempt when it is warranted.
A note on AI
We know you could go and ask a chatbot. The timer is deliberately tight enough to make that a bad trade, and we record whether the page lost focus and whether paste was attempted. We do not accuse anyone based on those signals alone — but if you were going to look everything up, the coupon is not really the point, is it?
